Beyond the design and building of Tablespoon, we actively measure site usage, uptime, and performance leveraging tools such as Google Analytics, Chartbeat, and Binary Canary. Additionally, we continuously test response times with WebMetrics for real users, monitoring:
- Cold page load time – the time for a new visitor with an empty cache
- Warm page load time – repeat visitor, primed browser cache
- HTML page load time - responsiveness and Google crawl rate
- Page load times for identified competitor sites
- APIs – Performance of 1st party and 3rd party API calls
Analyzing all of these metrics to identify opportunities to improve speed and user experience ensures we never become complacent with the status quo. We share results with our partners and brainstorm ways to turn insights into actionable steps to continuously improve.
